1st peek at Taipei city
Posted by Unknown at 9:41 AM | Monday, December 14, 2009 This weekend was spent in Taipei city. ![]() Well. I visited quite a few places and spent 2 nights at a hostel in the city. The hostel has a comfortable bed and nice showering facilities. For the first time in a week, I got to sleep on a bed. The cost to stay is 1030 NTD for a single room per night, rates are cheaper if you are willing to share room. Check it out here. A rather interesting stop over place because you get to meet people from all over the world there. On the first night at Taipei, we were at RM18, a local nightclub. It's a little different from those we have in Singapore. A little smokey (no-smoking is not that strongly enforced in Taiwan) and really cramped. But we had loads of fun and were dead tired when we reached the hostel the next morning. Drinks were more or less the same as that of Singapore. But we were pretty high, possibly due to the alcohol and continual passive smoking. ![]() In Room18 The next day, we decided to visit a hotspring at Beitou. We have ourselves to blame for being cheapos and choosing the public pool (40NTD) over the private ones, the water was scalding hot and really unbearable. ![]() Museum of the Indigenous People at BeiTou ![]() More statues And the last day of the weekend was spent with Chen Ee shopping at Xi Men Ting - bad mistake, she is a closet shopaholic - and then finding the other AIESEC'ers, we visited taipei 101 in the night. Thanks to the incessant photo-taking by our 2 ladies of every icon on the streets, we did not go up the tower as paying 400NTD was unworthy for half an hour left of viewing time. ![]() Insanely huge partyworld at XiMenTing ![]() Hilarious stall name at Shilin ![]() Random building at the taipei cityhall ![]() Taipei 101 That's all for now, would like to visit Dan Shui on the next weekend out. So Tracey, when do u want to come to Taipei? Haha. Labels: josh "hahaha will you be free to bring me around taipei? because it seems like the aiesecers in in donghwa uni no time to bring me around." tracey, on December 16, 2009 at 12:25 AM |
